Week #81

busy, Busy, and more BUSY

i didnt even get a full day in the area this week! the way i missed the area, but hey when you are called to do something you gotta do it! hahah elder king and i went to MLC in cape coast this week, and then had our exchange with the assistants, great to be with my TC elder smith, guy is a legend hahaha then we went ALLLLL the way to the farthest part of the mission, nkroful to do some baptismal interviews! we got back late friday night and the next day was missionary saturday so the members came and we did a bunch of splits with them and they proselyted with us, showing us less actives, friends, and fellow shipping our investigators!! such a great time, my first split on mission! we had a branch party at the end it was a fun time!

the way this week flew, busy missionaries, i swear the time goes tooo fast! hahahha welll king and i got the news we are staying another transfer together so we are super excited! love this man and his devoted example to me, most mornings i wake up and hes already at his desk studding hahah im just trying to keep up!

well all i will say is push on. life can be soooo full of challenges, we might feel that we are too busy for the little things, i ask each of us that when we find our selves beyond busy and stressed beyond anything to STOP. think of the savior and just kneel down and offer a pray of peace and gradditude. it sounds simple but i promise each of you that do this that their will be an overwhelming peace and joy come upon you that your life will seem to glow because the spirit is now with you and hes their to help you and your busy life. try it.

thank you for all your prayers, elder jeppson couldnt be happier!!!

Week #80

a principle of  obedience

we read in 64th section of the Doctrine and Covenants in verse 23, "Behold, now it is called today until the coming of the son of man, and verily it is a day of sacrifice, and a day for tithing of my people; for he that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming."

this week i saw such a great example of faith in the principle of tithes. we have an investigator named brother Edmond, now edmond lives in my old area in breanu akyim but because of the person he stays with he comes all the way to tamso branch to worship, its a tough deal cause we dont have the time to goo alll the way out there to see him, so we are working it out with him.

edmond has wanted to attend the church his whole life, back when he lived with his parents in takoradi he went to the church as often as he could but his parents wouldnt allow him, or give him money for transportion there, so eventually edmond moved out and came to tarkwa. ever since hes been coming to church.

the moment sacrament meeting ended edmond pulls my companion and i into a room and asked us to help him pay his tithe and fill out the envelope, in his hands was 100 cedis..... now to some that is nothing but to a young adult who makes MAYBE 5-10 cedis a day working at a washing bay, the amount was too much, we quickly taught him the commandment of tithing but he insisted!! he said that he feels he needs to pay the amount to make up for all the times he hadnt payed his tithing, the more we said he needs only pay 10 percent of what he makes the more he insisted.

i loved the amount of faith edmond has, even before he understands the commandment hes willing to give more then he should offer, people like this are those that are prepared by god, sooo grateful for edmonds example to me to always pay my tithe, the money is not for us, its for the lord, its for the kingdom of god to grow upon the earth.

let us all remember that when the lord comes we will have to account for everything, including the money that we were givin in this life, i know we can do it and follow such a humble young mans example, so grateful for these life lessons im seeing in action!! like always, mission is too sweet!

God bless!
