Week #5

you know me, Cool-Aid and Cereal

What a week right!? Teaching like 15 people a day and walking like 5 miles a day i don't understand why all the elders are getting abolo (fat) here. ahahha i used to say to my self back home its hot i want to swim and refresh my body in the lake, now i pray for rain...and when I say it rains, i cant even describe the rain here. it rains so hard and there is lightning going on and off all day hahah. rain is the only thing that keeps me from a heat stroke. lol jk but really. i used to dream about my shower before bed during the day cause it was the one time during the day my temperature felt kind of cooler. But NOW, since i was about to take a shower the other night and i go up to turn on the water and there is a spider near the shower head, i ran, no like i ran fast and not because the spider saw my nakedness but simply because the spider was about the size of my hand!!! i paid my comp about 2 ceedis to go kill it and then had to pray about 10 times before i took my shower cause i needed the courage to close my eyes while i washed the shampoo out hahahah so NOWW... i dread shower time. and my companions say the spiders come cause of the rain... so i dont pray for rain anymore. Ghana what a place. learn something everyday lol

Anyways! i had to go back to cape coast this week to get my non citzenship card and a "medical exam" i was first in the exam so the APs were not watching that closely and while i was being checked they take me to this room and take some blood from me and make me pee in a cup! haha you know youre having a good time when someone makes you pee in a cup. hahaha lol i was sooo lost on what was going on. then the APs came flying in and said to the doctor, " NOO just the basic check up is all we want!" hahah i was the only one out of all of us who had the full evaluation smh i hope my blood and urine helps that hospital increase their research on the health of obronies (white people). good to see all my TCs man they all love their trainers as do i! he knows how to work and i love it and he pushes me everyday to become better.

last story. the reason for the title was i was experiencing my first homesickness. i was missing moms good ole home made cool-aid and cereal... MY PRAYERS were anwsered! when i was at the mission home they fed us frosted flakes for breakfast!! Wahooooooooo! and then i remebered mom packed me some cool aid packets so for dinner i made cool-aid! man! i mean it wasnt as good as moms but it was sooo good!

alright so i was thinking about 4 of my investigators with baptismal dates. and how after they are baptized if they are not fellow shipped into the ward, especially here in ghana, they will fall away. It is sooo imporatant that as members of this church we are helping those new people in the ward and doing our best to be the best people we can be. everyone.... lemme say that again EVERYONE is a missionary if you are apart of this church. be the best missionary you can be and god will bless you. i cant wait for these next few weeks hopefully with faith, and the revelation of the holy spirit we will be dunkin some amazing children of god.

i love you alll! you all looked too good at homecoming! and i have to tell you all....savannah didnt kiss her date...sad i know but its all good. hahaha

hope you enjoy the pics!!

Week #4

Akwaaba

Who knows if that how you spell akwaaba but it looks good to me and means welcome!!! AFRICA is insane.... i love it. like try teaching a lesson while having the mom yell at the ,while chickens walk on your feet and while its like 894325893589 degress, sit in front of a mud hut, while the person youre teaching speaks no english, and then talk of the law of chastity and how it will change you life. hahahahahahah like i said, i love it.

saying goodbye to the district was sad but we all were hungry to get out. the mission president and his wife are an amazing and inspired people. MY companion/trainer is a solid brooooo. Elder Divver from salt lake utah. hes like neighbors with cody fletcher and nate koilecer!!! kids i went to peru with last summer DANNG small world. right as we got out assignment we took a 2 hour tro tro to assin fosu. all the elders that live here are so jelous of me to be born in this beatiful city. they say its the best place/most bush (foresty) to serve in. I LOVE IT. Elder langiti and amburme from somoa and zimbabwea live with us too. Good men they are hahaha. so pretty much first lesson i walked into so excited cause i was asked to baptize this investagator this sunday!! so we went it elder divver gave a great lesson and i born my testimony at the end. when we were done we walk away and i asked my comp, "so what tribal language was he speaking in there?? that was cool?!?!" he looked at me a little confused and said, "what are you talking about brother andrews speaks some of the best english ive ever heard in ghana." ........uh........uh, i wanted to cry. THAT MAN WAS SPEAKING ENGLISH THE WHOLE TIME AND I DIDNT HEAR A WORD! hahahahahah you people back home need to pray a little harder for me. jk hahaha its crazy here cause like it says its an english mission but it my area only few know english and its usually the kids. so im learning twi as best as i can. my comp says im learning fast then most people do so thats good. hahah hes pretty good. hes not fluent but hes good.

our dailey travel consist of a taxi drive from assin fosu to adiemmbra about thirty minutes away. doesnt sound that bad right? HA. try sitting in a car thats about the size of a smart car with a back seat in it and they wont leave till there is 7 people in the car.... oh and the rode we travel on is claimed to be the most rutted, pot holed road in all of ghana!! hahah we go like 15 mph max and more bumpy then anything you can imagine. and its hot like blazin hot hahhah. but it makes it so fun and i look forward to the drive everday hahah. church..... didnt hear a word but the sacrement prayer was prefored very nice. hahhah today we got up at 5 to cook a pig. i had to go by the pig and carry it sooo far away so i yelled for a taxi and drove with a pig in the taxi to the chapple hahah gotta love this place. drowned the pig and then let the somoans do the work. WOAH. those guys are fearless and make a mean lunch. cooked it in the palm leaves all morning. the whole zone was there. The sisters here.... crazy african girls, ive been called greenie about 83479529857 time today. mannn never again will they come to a party that i dropped 60 ceedies just for drinks. hahaha

alright laslty on a spiritual note, so that man i was asked to baptize sunday. love him hes a great guy and i understand him now. haha anyways during the last baptismal interview, he confessed that he was still living with his girlfriend. he told us she was moving out but she wasnt. the reason being because they have a 2 year old daughter that is the cutest thing in the world. he wants the gospel soo bad and he know the book of mormon sooo well. but if he joins the church and kicks his gf out he looses his daughter elizabeth. tough situation and we told him to pray to know what to do cause heavenly father will tell him what to do. he agreed and said he still wants to learn and come to church while he figures it out so were pushing his date back 2 weeks. im so proud of brother andrews for doing the right thing. the gospel of jesus christ changes lives people want it sooo bad and its not easy to give up things, especially a daughter to join. but through god and reading the scriptures we can know what to do and have a sense of direction in our lives. these people are amazing, inspired, and caring people who want to know god and i hope be like them.

me dough paaa paaa ( i love you all sooo soo much) hopefully all is well back home i know savv kissed her date at homecoming so someone give her a high five for me hahah lol love you all.

(lol left my camera ill send pics sooon paaa)

Week #2

next stop... GHANA

8-Sep-2016

Week 2 in the MTC was sooo good! but... its most definetly time to get out of here hahah. For the sake of my weight. (in the first 8 days i gained 12 pounds ahahahah) and the sake on my sanity. Like i love class and all but being in the same seat for almost 30 hours a week can not be healthy to anyone lol. But i can honestly say i love it here. This place gets better and better everyday.
Sooooo many good stories this week! elder Joos... the scrub lol learned how to use a microwave this week, poor kid didnt even know how to make popcorn..... like he didnt know there was a popcorn button. hahahahha bless his heart when he gets to ghana. we also had our first loss in spikeball.... what a sad day that was. he raged on me for about a good 20 minutes but its all good now cause we killed them the next set of 3.
GOT MY FLIGHT PLANS!! i leave next tuesday at 3:50 a.m. for GHANA! im sooo looking forward to having 33 other missionaries going to ghana on that same plane. hahah our goal is to convert everyone on it as we have about at 20 hour flight to Accra. the ZL life is good. everyone still expects me to know everything about the MTC so i just go with what ever i feel promted to say and hope i said the right answer hahah.... im like 92 percent of the time, wrong. but thats okay!!
Elder D. Todd Christoferson of the quorem of the 12 aposals came and spoke to us on tuesday! hahah what a neat experience as he talked about repentance and how important it really is. We have to turn our hearts to Heavenly Father to be fully repented. i love that so much as that is part of my purpose as a missionary in his church, to bring others towards repentance and towards christ.
so my mom is the greatest obviously haha BUT!! she sent me 2 nerf guns and LET ME TELL YOU!!! night time we all go ham... like its a blood bath hahah. Elder walton litterly challenges anyone to a 5 story nerf war before bed but what makes it sketch is he found where the circuit breaker box is and he turns off all the power in the whole building hahahah love that kid so much.
For all those die hard BYU Fans, Chad Lewis came and gave the devo talk on sunday and it was soooo good as he talked about how much he loved his mission and how it made him a better person. and how he knows it blessed him to be able to play in the NFL as he was one of the best college tight ends of his time. i want to end by asking all of you to go and watch the movie the restoration (the one on Joseph Smith.) it is sooo killer and everytime i hear the song praise, "praise to the man" i testifies to me that joseph was a prophet of god and through the power of the priestood, he changed the world forever so that family can be with one another forever. i love you all and next time you hear from me ill be in GHANA!! WAHOOOO!
-I give not because I have not, but if I had, I would give.
Elder Jeppson

Week #1

week one down....WHATTTTT?!?!?!?!

1-Sep-2016

Yooooo this place is soooooo LIT! crazy to think i got pulled over last tuesday hahahaha i miss you all so much already but lemme tell you all. My District is the greatest group of elders to ever see the Provo MTC. we are a district of 12, 11 going to one of the 4 missions in Ghana and 1 elder going to Uganda and we found out he is the only elder in the ENTIRE MTC going to Uganda. so hes kind of the lost sheep of Uganda. oh and the best party of the district. NO SISTERS, so its always a party. my companion is such a bro, we can teach soo effectively its ridiculous. his name is Elder Snell from Herimiston Oregon so like 4 hours from Boise so that is chill chill. oh and get a load of this.... First full day in the MTC meet my branch president and 30 minutes later tells the whole zone... elder Snell and elder Jeppson are our new ZONE LEADERS.....!?!?!??! my comp and i are over about 50 other elders and sisters in our zone. its kind of stressful but we love it so much.and we get a useless phone that all it does is answer phone calls. nothing else works hahaha.
last night we welcomed a new group of kids to our zone and helped them get used to the MTC and helped them get to know their companion. anyways after we took them to their rooms, elder snell and i were practically naked about to get in the shower and we get a call from the sister training leaders saying one of their sisters is not feeling well and would like a priesthood blessing... sooooo elder snell and i got dressed in about .48938908 seconds ran all the way across the campus to give this sister a blessing. i had the opportunity to give that blessing and WOW, i can honestly say the power of god is real, the priesthood is real and during that blessing i have never felt the spirit so strong. And as the words of that prayer came out of my mouth i realized this is exactly why i have been called a the ZL of branch 41 and i am so grateful for the opportunity to give that blessing to sister beck.
hahahahah for all those scrubs (new word for our district thanks to Elder Joos) who think theyre good at spikeball. elder Joos and i are like 76/76 in winning. WE ARE THE CHAMPS of the MTC and no one can beat us. our chemistry is like Einstine whippin up a pot of whip cream. elder joos.. and interesting guy hahaha his dad is the CEO of Nike shoes so hes never had to clean a day in his life and drives a hellcat so hes preety much the most spoiled kid i know yet everyone loves him so much cause hes just a solid bro.
were in class pretty much all day but... i love it so much. my testimony has grown more in 7 days then it has my whole life. the word, gospel, isnt just another word for the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints. it means soooo much more, gospel means the steps to become more like Christ. through baptism, repentance, faith, the holy ghost and enduring to the end. that is the gospel and that is why i am here as a missionary for this church. to bring those who are lost towards Christ.
Honestly feel bad about my goodbye to the fam last week i was so nervous before getting dropped off that i never got to bear my testimony so ill do it to all of you guys. the work of Jesus Christ is real, the atonement is real, i know why i am here. this is where i are supposed to be. i love this gospel with all my heart. i must be my first convert and im working so hard for it so that when i get to Ghana the work of this gospel may move forward steadfast in the faith of Christ. i love you all and i miss the lake so much right now i cant even being (like i work out and walk around in my bathing suit....) hahah wish i had more time. I love you all!

1. elder snell and i day one before bed.

 2. temple walk with the district

3. elder snell being jokingly threatened but elder walton to wash the bathroom floor or else ahahahha

4. 2300 missionaries here.

5. Elder Cameron Bartschi!
