Week #35

livin it up!

man i swear yesterday was p-day... time is just flying!! i was thinking this week and its been 1 year since my sister came home from her mission and tommorow marks 1 year since i opened my call!! WHERE IS TIME GOING?! hahah thats why i hope i can live it up and make the most of this mission. cause someday it will end... sounds like a nightmare... my mission ending?? BUT thats a long ways a way so im stoked to continue to serve our God!!

Im tired pa pa!! we went to far with bishop this week and we took the "bushmobile" out to his farm! its wasss sooo fun! but bishop is kind of intense about farm so like we were therre from like 7 am to like 3 in the after noon.. now that might not sounds like a lot but reminder the sun is about scorrching temperature at like 8;45 so yes i got fried and was soooooooo dead when we finnally got home hahah but planting corn ghana style is a lot more work then i thought! learned lots from bishop and it was a great time!

really didnt teach a lot this week cause everyone seemed to be tired or busy... hahah but thats GHANA! but one thing that i saw this week that i really really do love is a quote on the back of some young man shirt. it read, "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." its FACT! think about it. because of the flesh of our body we will go through pain and temptations, but we dont have to suffer! and the best part WE can choose for ourselves! if we follow christ we will still go through trials and pain but we will not, can not suffer! hhahah almost bought the shirt off the kids back lolo

well another great week ahead of us! love you all! honestly just keep saying your prayers and read your scriputers and not only will you come closer to christ but He will come closer to you!

love you all!

Week #34

oh how glorious was that morning

Happy Easter! well there wasnt much easter celebration done here but there was suchhhhhh a dopeee week!!!! there was a wedding on saturday for sister Joyce one of my favorite RM's. we helped set up for it and carried like 50 chairs on our head down to the house....chale the way my neck is sore HAHAHA i dont know how these Ghanains carry everything on there head! but it was fun!

Transfers was this week so we said goodbye to some people and then said hello to others! man im gonnaa miss some of those homies that are leaving soooo much fun serving with them! but man the new group is sooooo sweet! Elder Brooks from Arizona came to our appartment to be with elder akituyi and we are enjoyin! hahahah he littlerly has 8 weeks to go home so its soooo funny cause hes sooooo tired! lol

well it was easter and of course we were all reflecting on the saviors life and most importantly his atoning sacrifice for all of us. i cant help ask my self why? why did Jesus christ suffer Everything, litterly every pain or affliction, for me and you? idk i really dont know why? but all i could think of was Christ love and his knowledge of the role in the plan of salvation for his brother and sisters. he was willing to give his life for his brothers and sister and because he did all of us will be victorious over death and IF we choose we can even have exaltation and eternal happiness. made me think of missionary work, if i give everything i can for my brothers and sisters of ghana maybe just maybe i can help someone choose not only to be resurrected but have eternal life with our father in heaven! man im learning sooo much about jesus christ as  i read the scriptures i just cant help feel that as i read the event are actually happening rn. the scriptures are my friend like i know that sounds weird but ive never felt closer to anything in my life then my scriptures rn hahahaha

love you all! i hope you are all enjoying the last bit of winter cause summer is coming.... hahahahah ohhhhh the heat!!!!

Week #33

hhaahah 6 transfers

well i received news this week that i indeed will be staying another transfer in Assin Fosu.... that now makes 6 transfers here. hahahah ayyye its not easy oo but the lord needs me here for some reason and just as ELder Bednar taught, we are called to serve , not to a place. so i hope i can keep doing my best in the wonderful area!

well not much happened this week, power went out for about a day. had this lady say she will get wives (plural) for me and my companion. spent plenty time on the toilet. decided im going to actually start learning to read twi. had a wonderful baptism on saturday. half the town flooded yesterday during a rain storm. im now playing the piano at a wedding, so go me.... my skin on my nuckles didnt peel for the first time in 8 months when i did my wash this morning. the whole town, fire department, police, and missionaries lol killed a 8 foot long black mamba in the middle of town. and best of all i found out im staying the funniest guy ever another transfer, Elder Woyesa! hahahhahaha what a week eh?

well all i have to share today is about love. and this is why. we have a young man by the name of paul who is more then qualified for baptism but the uncle the old bishop who paul is staying doesnt think he is ready and he needs to know more before he is baptized. note: paul has been to church 10 times in a row and standard is 3 before baptism, and he been taught all the lessons more then once. now i know that we are supposed to love everyone no matter what.... but ill be honest chale.... i really really really dont love pauls uncle at all hahahah that is why i want to talk about love.

ME. Elder Peyton Mccall Jeppson, need to work on love. i need to love this man for than any other person on this earth. i need to love him enough that he can see that i really do care for paul and im not here just to baptize people but to truley help people become converted to following Jesus Christ. its not easy to love someone that we personaly struggle with but i pray and hope that one day, showing true love to someone, can change not only their current mind but the heart forever. i know it will someday with pauls uncle but first, i need to show love.

love you all! lots of pics! HAPPY 50 DAD! haha EVERYONE GO READ proverbs 20:29, "the glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head." dad you are BEAUTIFUL PA PA!! hahh

Week #32

CONFERENCE IN GHANA

What an outstanding week! lots offf fun memories and good spiritually uplifting moments this week, especially with conference going on!!! my second conference in assin fosu was even better this time cause i was able to watch and 3 of sessions and one of my apparment companions is from kenya, and kenya is getting a TEMPLE!!! sooo stoked!!!

well monday i went to the barber to get a small hair cut and i told him just do the "shape"... but what he heard is give me a "shave" ........ brother and sisters, ladies and gentlemen i have never, EVER had a more painful shave in my life!!!. hahahah the dadi used the clippers they use to cut like hair on the head and then a straight blade..... my face hurt for like 2 days hahahah but hey i didnt shave that morning so maybe it was God giving me a little chastisement through the hands of my barber hahahha lesson learned!

well what i want to share this week is a talk given in the saturday afternoon session in general conference by Gary B. Sabin. first off, that guy is sooo funny! haha second he gave one of the most amazing talks i have ever heard in my life. he talked about how giving a half heart effort or just doing enough to get by on a task we have before us will never be enough. he said the best way for us to show the lord that we are all in, is we must Stand up inside first. we have to have a commitment inside our self that we will never back down even for a moment, and when someone knocks us down or some challenge is before us we have to get right back up.

his final instruction was in order for us to stand up all the way inside ourselves we might need to let go of the world and hang onto eternity, DONT FEAR MAN, JUST LIVE RIGHT. what an inspired talk i felt like was just for me. on mission you dont get a grade and here in ghana no one will correct you for anything you do wrong BUT God is always watching and not just watching our actions but our heart.

JUST LIVE RIGHT!!

love you all!

PS. BETTER WISH THE OLD MAN (PAPA JEPP) A HAPPY HALF CENTURY ON THE EARTH on sunday! HAHAHA
